The needed data from the GPS card is just the location portion of the data string that is

highlighted in bold above. Additional data from the GPS card includes in order, a

leading time stamp, height, velocity, heading, receiver status and a final checksum. The

output rate from the card can be set to once per second as a maximum and down to once

every 255 seconds. In our application it is set to update once per second.
